This coaching is here to help you bridge the voice-body-emotions-mind connection and get back in touch with your voice and yourself.

Our work will mostly focus on self-validation. We will explore and amplify what works and establish fruitful practices that will guide you through your personal and professional life.

I have noticed that when we feel strong emotions or get stressed, our nervous system instinctively does things that constrict our whole body, including the throat. That is why our pitch can rise, we get vocal fry, or we just cannot breathe well. At that point, the listener often associates our speaking/singing with fear or tension. Frequently, the voice becomes unmanageable and the message comes to be less persuasive. So, what shall we do?

That is when the practice of the body-voice connection comes in. Through different embodied voice/movement techniques, the body learns to relax, trust, and lean into confidence, presence, and safety. At that very moment, the environment leans in and listens to our message.

Voice is not one thing. It is the sum of complex parts and is so inherent to the human body that the body can be considered its instrument. This means that the importance of holistic approaches to problem solving and positive transformation in vocal training is so crucial.

Our work will be based on one or many of the pillars mentioned below. It will touch on the technical, personal, professional, and healing aspects of voice. We will discuss the exact intention during our first call.

Why choose three-month coaching rather than ad hoc sessions?

As a qualified voice, singing, and yoga coach, I have noticed that people often give up right before a big breakthrough. That is when the idea of 3-month coaching was born. "By committing to yourself and the frequent work for a certain amount of time, we create a space for many discoveries and breakthroughs. The desired outcomes will appear because of your openness and dedication."

For those who start from scratch:

The fact is that our body reflects what is on our mind.

Research reveals that each emotion correlates with distinct rhythms of breathing, body language, and posture. The human body reflects stressful thoughts through changes. These involuntary changes affect posture, increase muscle tension and breathing rates, which influences the human voice. This means that our voice is a psychophysical activity that mirrors our state. That is why voice and singing classes should start slowly, address the entire being, and recognise the holistic nature of voice work. The voice lies between the head and the heart for a reason.

For singers/artists:

"The deep song of joy and pain is primitive and known to many."

Have you ever felt so raw with emotions that you drop to your knees while singing?

Is this the reason why most of us sing? Not to perform, please, or put on an act but to connect, give goosebumps, and touch others?

Shall we stop overthinking and aiming for flawless perfection but instead favour giving chills and heart eruptions?

If the answer is yes, then let's breathe. Let's stop overthinking and drop into our bodies. Let's allow the emotions connected to the song to transform us into another world. Let's openly share the experience.

Let's...

For dancers/physically active people:

Some people have the opposite experience described above. They feel connected to the body but not to the voice; therefore, this requires a slightly different approach. The tools we use will rewire, retrain, and reorganise the inner system that powerfully influences the voice. We let the body guide the voice.

...working with the human voice is truly like working with magic. Your voice is an audible autobiography telling your life stories.

For everyone:

I have noticed, in my practice, that too many of us 'work' on our singing/speaking and not enough play around with their voices.

I pay attention to this because people discover a lot more when they experiment, try different things, ask themselves questions, and seek answers from their own voices.

That is why I prefer to guide somebody through a process of self-discovery rather than imposing a list of criteria that l expect them to adopt. Of course, knowledge/techniques are essential, but being playful and having our own permission to explore helps to create a better understanding of vocal capabilities. This approach awakens our individualised sound.

Let's stay curious, shall we?

Lastly, some food for thought:

If there is a universal truth about voice sessions, it is that every student and client will (sooner or later) confront the fear of imperfections and self-judgement. The human voice is so strongly connected to our self-image that we have no choice but to fully face ourselves.

So, let us pause and remember that vocal training is not about earning compliments, getting full marks in exams, or singing perfectly. It is about opening ourselves up to exploring things we have not yet done and making mistakes as we go along.

Voice training is about intimacy. It is about a raw and truthful voice-body-mind-emotions connection. It is about willingness to meet and face our imperfections, self-judgment and vulnerabilities. This way we learn how to love EVERYTHING that emerges from our mouth. We learn to see challenges as opportunities for growth and authentic expression.

As one of my students said, I might feel totally uncomfortable right now, but I would rather face myself than hide and diminish my potential.

Cheers to nurturing a growth mindset.
